Research from the Sleep Foundation suggests that smell can affect many aspects of sleep. Different scents can promote better sleep, increase length of sleep, and influence dreams. Join us at the McKinley Birthplace Home as Janet Agueda of Making Scents Studio in Niles discusses the connection between scent and sleep. She will also teach participants how to make their own pillow spray.

This one-time grief support session will focus on coping with grief during the holiday season. Hospice of the Valley’s LSW Bereavement Facilitator Kimberly Calhoun will facilitate this session.

Caregivers and their children ages 0–4 years are invited to attend storytime to encourage a love of reading with fun stories, songs, and crafts. Stop by to celebrate a different theme each week! Join us on October 17 for a special “Stand Up” storytime in celebration of Trumbull County Reads.

Listen to the classic story of Snow White and learn how to make a tasty fall treat! Children will learn how to make candy apples and will take one home to enjoy. All supplies will be provided. Ages 7 and up.

November is National Native American Heritage Month! Celebrate by learning about the history of Native Americans in the Mahoning Valley and making a fun craft. Children will hear true stories of Native Americans in our area and see original artifacts including a wampum belt, an Iroquois horn rattle, and black bear pelts. All supplies will be provided. Ages 7 and up.

Join us from 4 to 5 PM for Art Making with the HELMS Foundation!

Express how you feel through art making! Teens ages 12–18 are invited to create a different artwork each month. All materials will be provided.
